Description

As satellite systems evolve, the need to future-proof space communications becomes increasingly important. While established cryptographic standards such as X.509 ensure interoperability between satellites, ground stations, and commercial networks, they were not designed with quantum resilience in mind.

This activity explores how post-quantum cryptography (PQC) can be integrated into existing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) standards through X.509 hybridization. In a hybrid model, traditional cryptographic algorithms are combined with emerging quantum-safe ones, ensuring security both today and in the quantum era.
