This proof-of-concept study explores new ways to strengthen the cybersecurity of open-source software used in satellite communications (SATCOM).

The project aims to create a scalable security assessment framework, identify potential vulnerabilities, and propose initial improvements that can enhance software resilience in future missions.

By analysing selected open-source components, the study will deliver practical recommendations and lay the foundation for broader initiatives to secure the digital backbone of modern satellite communications.
