This study focuses on analysing the cybersecurity landscape of satellite communications (SATCOM). It begins by defining key concepts and outlining the sector’s structure, stakeholders, and main vulnerabilities.

The analysis examines how global developments and regulatory frameworks influence cybersecurity in SATCOM, comparing different regional approaches in Europe, North America, and other major space nations. By identifying gaps and overlaps in existing frameworks, the study highlights areas where improvements can strengthen protection across the entire ecosystem.

The outcome will be a set of practical recommendations and a roadmap to support policymakers, industry, and research institutions in making satellite communications more secure and resilient.
